Possibly the most exciting win for democrats as a result of Tuesday's election was for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who will become the first woman to obtain the position as Speaker of the House of Representatives.<br /><br />As if Tuesday wasnt bad enough for President Bush and his fellow republicans, one of the republicans decided to throw in the towel. On Wednesday, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld resigned from his position and will be replaced by <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/thenation/20061108/cm_thenation/15138228">former<br />CIA director Robert Gates</a>.<br /><br />What has become clear as a result of all these changes is exactly what President Bush said: the citizens of America have spoken. In recent months Bush's approval rating has continued to drop and there has been much disatisfaction over the war in Iraq.
